Lance, lounging

Cats love to lay about, apparently relaxing.  But secretly, they keep watch, waiting for a bug to fly past.  Or a leaf to blow up against the window.  Lance is really loving this little couch on the porch.  From here, he can see through the windows - there are birds on the wires, but he's not going to let them know he's watching.

Lance is on the case

Took out my viola to play a bit of a duet with the youngest and Lance took the opportunity to make himself comfortable.  I've always lived with at least one cat who liked to sit or sleep in my viola case.  Lance is by far the largest cat do to do though.  Silly boy!

Lance is on the case

I have been a viola player for... hm, about 40 years give or take.  All my life, I've lived with cats who like to sleep in my viola case while I play.  I just recently got this wonderful Bam case from my cousin Frank who's a local luthier.  This is literally the first time I've opened it up in the house and it didn't take Lance 2 minutes to walk over and settle in.  I didn't even have time to but the neck bridge on!  It's nice to see the tradition continue.  I guess.

Lance and the harvest

We'd picked a bunch of veggies from the community garden plot and laid them on the counter before putting them away.  It wasn't long before Lance decided the cabbage leaves made a good bed.  Who knows what goes on in the minds of felines?  He sure looks comfy though!

Hey, that's salt water!

Lancelot

Yesterday was a glorious day!  The weather was warm, the sun was shining and it was time to open the windows.  At first, I only opened them a crack, but it was enough for the cats to find the outdoors wafting inside.  This is Lance - he's all grown up now, and he really likes the window when it's open.  In fact, it's a common sight to see him like this, with one arm outside.

Love

St Valentine's Day celebrates love, and here is what love looks like in our house: cat and dog sleeping side by side.  Well, head to tail anyway.  Femme the dog really likes the couch, and so done Lancelot the cat.  Despite being the most stereotypical of enemies, they get along very well indeed.

Green eyed monster

My oldest did a bit of trimming and decided to bring the more fragrant boughs in.  I think he's planning to make a wreath.  Lancelot the cat decided he very much likes the idea and pretty much wouldn't leave these alone.  I like the way the flash makes his eyes seem the same colour as the boughs.

Cat up the tree

The kitten is exactly the right age.  Young enough to have the energy and interest to investigate everything, old enough to have the energy to climb.  We lost quite a few glass ornaments to this scamp!  Here, he investigates Star Trek's Lt Commander Data.
