Foggy morn

Ever since I was a boy I loved foggy days.  Mysterious and wonderful and rare.  The weather is so warm that we've been given another morning with the mist clinging to everything.  Although it seems as though I took this in black and white, I didn't - this is how it really looks!

Spring fog

Spring brings warm air that meets up with the cold ground and produces fog.  This is St John's Cemetery, looking east into the morning sun.

I don't know why, but I like photos like this.

Foggy day

The temperature this morning is quite warm for the end of October - 60F! It rained pretty hard all night, so there's lots of moisture in the air and the result is fog. I always liked fog; no idea why. Probably because of the quiet.

These trees have already shed their leaves, but there are still trees with lots of green on them. October is a wonderful time.

Skywatch Friday

A foggy day. Fog isn't that common here, so I haven't much practice trying to capture it.

It's Skywatch Friday - click the link for photos of skies round the world.

Skywatch Friday

Another unofficial Skywatch Friday. Do click the link to see how the talented photo bloggers posted!

Yesterday. Not much sky, but the camera is pointed into the air. The weather service claimed 'ice fog' and I suppose it was. Trees and rooftop to prove that I did in fact take a photo of the sky!

Contrast

The contrasts caught my eye. Fog attenuates colours, so the bold colour of the flag stood out immediately. More subtle is the contrast between the trees bravely holding their leaves and the one already prepared for winter's winds.

Sometimes it's the little things that satisfy best.

St John's cemetery, on a foggy morning.

Fog

Fog is somewhat unusual here, but this is the season when it's most likely. Well, I seem to remember it that way. One of these days I'll go check the National Weather Service and be sure!

This is looking down Maple Ave toward St John's Cemetery, one short block away.
