Police bikes

The local police departments had a show and tell day at Rotterdam Square Mall.  We went for the Child ID program, and near their table were these motorcycles belonging to the Schenectady Police Department.  I knew we had Harleys, but the dirt bike was new to me.  I wonder how often that gets taken out?

A touch of the tropics

Well, maybe not as tropical as I'd like, but I could not resist this thatched umbrella in Warrensburg, NY. Warrensburg is in the north country of NY state, up in the Adirondack Mountains. The signs for the calzones and pizza are more familiar than the umbrella, and seeing the little 'pizza guy' there just made the shot for me.

We have a pretty short riding season here, so when the weather is good, the bikers are out riding (or stopping for some pizza). And there is some very beautiful country to ride through up there!

Art Bike crowd

Another shot from last week's Art Bike festival. There was food, there were people and there were motorcycles. There was a band playing, too - heavy rock. A very nice way to spend a few hours.

A good day to ride

A collection of motorcycles on a nice, sunny day: somewhat rare recently. We're between hurricanes, and although we don't get often struck directly, the remnant tropical depression tends to dump lots of rain on the area.

The bikers are getting those last summer rides in, before the autumn chill closes in.
