Skywatch Friday

The sun backlit this icicle and it was so pretty I just had to try to take a photo.  It didn't come out as well as it appeared in my mind's eye, but it's not horrible either.  Just don't stand under it! (it's inside the yard, so no danger to passersby).

A group of photobloggers post a photo of their skies each Friday - it's called Skywatch Friday. Click the link to see photos from round the world.

  2. That is quite the dagger there, Buck. At least I am seeing some blue sky in the background. Its gray in the Seattle area, as usual. :) Have a great weekend!

  3. I do like how it stands out in the photo. I spent half my childhood visiting Schenectady and family. I remember many winters like this!

  4. Hi - icicles are a bit thin on the ground in Australia - so it’s good to see one!

As for the comment about "getting used to your camera" - I think that goes for all of us, because just as you master one, it’s time to upgrade!!! Oh the wonders of technology!

  6. it's been a while since my last visit, so i wanted
to start at the top and scroll down the page before commenting. this would allow me to enjoy you recent postings uninterrupted.

this shot stopped me cold(pun)! that gleam off the icicle is the joint! - possibly like you, i briefly considered a little more light on the wall so as to show the texture. but nah! this would distract from the main attraction. besides, there's enough drama in the tree.

this picture is wonderful the way it is. :-)

i'm no expert, but i know what i like when i like it!

thank you for sharing this, Buck.
