A touch of the tropics

Well, maybe not as tropical as I'd like, but I could not resist this thatched umbrella in Warrensburg, NY. Warrensburg is in the north country of NY state, up in the Adirondack Mountains. The signs for the calzones and pizza are more familiar than the umbrella, and seeing the little 'pizza guy' there just made the shot for me.

We have a pretty short riding season here, so when the weather is good, the bikers are out riding (or stopping for some pizza). And there is some very beautiful country to ride through up there!

  1. Just so you know, the locals, (ME) hate it... The crazy paint and trashy look that really ruins a beautiful old historic building. Much easier to find kitchy if you are just driving by.

  2. We have a lot of old buildings here that have either been torn down or 're-purposed' in ways that aren't very attractive.

It always gives me pause when I take a photo because I honestly don't want to be insulting or to upset anyone. I'm glad you posted - your opinion matters to me!
